CHILD POVERTY
Child poverty in the U.S is among the worst in the developed world. More alarmingly, the share of U.S children living in poverty has actually increased by 2 percentage points since 2008. Overall, 24.2 million U.S children were living in poverty in 2012, reflecting an increase of 1.7 million children since 2008. The report finds considerable differences in childhood poverty at the state level.
